Information on local transit options and resources for getting to South Street!

Subway

The nearest SEPTA station is 2nd Street Station, located at 2nd and Market Streets and served by the L (Market–Frankford Line). It is approximately a 10–15 minute walk to South Street.

PATCO also provides nearby rapid-transit service, although it is separate from SEPTA. The 9/10th & Locust Street PATCO station is approximately a 15-minute walk.

Regional Train

The nearest SEPTA Regional Rail station is Jefferson Station, located near 10th and Market Streets. From Jefferson Station, South Street is roughly a 15–20 minute walk.

Bus

The best bus routes are Route 57 and Route 40.

Route 57 runs along 3rd and 4th Street
Route 40 runs along 2nd and Lombard Street

Bikes

Indego offers several stations conveniently located near South Street making it easy to access this vibrant area by bike. Nearby station includes:

2nd & South: At 523 South 2nd Street, this station is perfect for accessing the eastern end of South Street and the nearby Queen Village neighborhood.

To use Indego bikes, you can purchase a pass through their website or mobile app. Once you have a pass, locate a nearby station using the app or the Indego Station Map, unlock a bike, and start your ride. After reaching your destination on South Street, return the bike to any Indego docking station.

Parking Lots

Several parking garages and lots are conveniently located near the South Street District, making it easy to access the area if you’re arriving by car. Some nearby options include:

Abbotts Square Garage: Located at 530 S. 2nd Street, this underground garage offers convenient parking just a short walk from the eastern end of South Street and the Headhouse District.
3rd & Bainbridge Lot: Situated a few blocks south of South Street, this surface lot provides another nearby option within walking distance of the district.
Abbotts and Stella Parking Area: Located near the South Street corridor, this small lot offers additional parking close to many of the shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues along South Street.

Many garages and surface lots in the area offer hourly parking, and metered street parking may also be available on surrounding blocks depending on the time of day.
