Night Out on 9th: Night Market
Our incredibly popular Night Out on 9th: Night Market returns on Friday, July 31, from 5-9 PM on the 900 and 1000 blocks of South Street.
In partnership with BVNA, the Friends of the South Street Police Mini Station, and the National Night Out initiative, we’re excited to bring the community together for an evening celebrating the residents, businesses, and civic leaders who work together to make South Street one of Philadelphia’s most unique neighborhoods.
Enjoy a variety of activities and experiences, including:
- Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens – celebrate the opening of its new exhibition
- Philadelphia Union’s IBX Kicking Challenge – test your skills in the summer of soccer
- Sharing Excess – learn about the nonprofit’s work to redistribute surplus food
- Philadelphia Water Department’s Water Bar – discover more about Philadelphia’s high-quality tap water and upcoming public projects
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Bailey, the Philadelphia Police Department’s new crisis response canine, who is part of the Behavioral Health Unit’s Crisis Intervention Response Teams (CIRT). Operating citywide, CIRT responds to 911 calls and behavioral health crises with a focus on de-escalation, support, and community-based solutions.
The event also features local artisan vendors, live music, delicious food and drinks, family-friendly activities, games, community resource and information booths, and much more.
Come out, connect with your neighbors, and experience the community spirit that makes South Street such a special place!
More details about participating businesses, food trucks, and vendors to be announced soon.
