On Thursday, 9/14/23, at approximately 11:30pm, police received a radio call for a robbery in progress.Â
P/O Forest and P/O Gregorio immediately began to survey the area and located a victim at 700 Lombard Street who stated she was walking to the bus stop when two individuals pushed her to the ground, kicked her repeatedly, and stole her purse.Â
A description of the offenders was broadcast over police radio. Forest quickly surveyed the area and was able to track down two suspects matching the description that were found hiding behind a house on the 600 block of Schell Street.Â
Both suspects were positively identified and placed under arrest with the stolen property recovered.Â
Officer Forest was recognized with the South Street Officer of the Month Award for his quick response and diligence in not only locating the victim but tracking down and apprehending the offenders.
