“Retail theft cost stores an estimated $122 billion in losses last year. Everyone, from nationwide chains to mom-and-pops to consumers felt its impact through higher prices, reduced inventories, and shuttered doors.
To address this, South Division commanding officer, Inspector Matthew Gillespie, is leading a task force in conjunction with the District Attorney’s Office, residents, and local businesses.
