Alphonse Lane’s new art show “The Stoic Journey” opens at 3rd Street Gallery on Friday, October 6th. The show will run through Sunday, October 29th.

The Stoic Journey:

“I have named this exhibition to this title because I enter a meditative state when I paint. Within this state, there is a numbness or a feeling of nothingness. The stoic aspect of this journey comes from the pains the artist must go through when creating specific works of art. The viewer has heard the term painstaking work. That is precisely what I am writing about. For me, as an Artist, Stoicism is an enduring property that exists in my day-to-day practice as an Artist.”

3rd Street Gallery is an Artist-Owned and Run Cooperative of local area artists. They’re located at 610 S 3rd Street. Gallery hours: Fridays, 4pm – 7:30pm, Saturdays, 1pm – 5pm, and Sundays, 12pm – 4pm.
