PECO Family Jams: Carnivorous Plant Roadshow — Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens

When: Sunday, May 8th, 12pm – 4pm
Where: Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, 1020 South St.

While Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is not anything like a traditional garden, they are thrilled by the arrival of spring when PMG’s plants can come outside to blossom among the mosaics. To celebrate the season, we are joined by Pennsylvania Master Naturalist Leslie Gale of Bartram’s Gardens, a 50-acre public garden on the banks of the Tidal Schuylkill River in Southwest Philadelphia. Leslie is bringing her ever-popular Carnivorous Plant Roadshow.
Explore the fascinating world of Venus flytraps and pitcher plants which lure their prey through mimicry, trickery, and surprising patterns. Meet some soil-enhancing critters and make a cardboard carnivorous flower to brighten up your windowsill.

Tickets are free with admission

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. The program will include hands-on crafts and several mini-tours of our fully mosaicked basement. No reservations are required for PECO Family Jams, but admission tickets should be purchased in advance here.
