South Street Headhouse District proudly announces the winners of its 2015 Window Wonderland contest. In total, a record 35 businesses in the District participated creating unique and festive window displays.
Participating judges for this years event were: Hughe Dillon, Philly Chitchat; Lauren Leonard, President QVNA; Melony Roy, reporter, KYW; Rachel Vigoda, Phila Metro; Claudia Christian, Philly Free Press; Dr. Benjamin B. Olshin, Director, School of Design, The University of the Arts, and Mark Squilla, Philadelphia 1st Ward Councilman.
The Judges Award this year went to Paper Moon at 520 S 4th Street, with the highest overall scoring showing their tranquil scene of ‘peace’ which is always welcome, no matter the season. The Judges Award runner-up was given to Garland of Letters at 527 South Street.
For most unusual or creative window, this new award could not have gone to a more
appropriate new store in the District than Strange and Unusual, located at 523 S 4th Street.
For the People’s Choice, chosen by online Facebook balloting and paper ballots, the runaway winner was Crash Bang Boom at 528 S 4th Street, with over 400 votes.
The overall $500 prize winner, which was chosen from the top 3 online voting, as well as the top
three from the Judges category, was Crash Bang Boom with their theme of land of misfit toys finding a home on South Street.
