Get your dancing shoes ready for the hot summer nights of toe tapping at the Friday Night Dance Party under the Historic Headhouse Shambles, located at 2nd & Lombard. The South Street Headhouse District is thrilled to present a series of three summer concerts that will be sure to make you feeling shaking your groove thing.
On Friday July 21, the program kicks off with a swing with Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society as they turn back the clock to the Jazz Age.The Midnight Society is Philadelphia’s premier band for time traveling back to the gilded age of Gatsby, so break out your flapper skirts and spats and get ready to Charleston.

Next up, Friday August 18 will be mucho caliente with Siempre Salsa and a tantalizing night of Latin dancing. Siempre Salsa Philly was created by by Rob Bernberg, Jesse Bermudez and Carlos Sanchez to infuse Philadelphia with authentic salsa flavor and when the beat starts everyone is dancing.

On Friday September 15, the Shambles goes country with Sweetbriar Rose for an evening of folk sounds and dancing slow with your darling. Sweetbriar Rose brings their mix of rootsy, thorny, rose-hipped gypsy Americana folk and jazz along with some good old foot-stomping and finger-picking, crooning and wailing.

The party will begin each night at 6pm with Society Hill Dance Academy and Philadelphia Dance Foundation on hand for an hour before each concert offering a free dance lesson for young and old, featuring dances to go along with each style of music. The bands will perform from 7-9pm. Drinks and light fare will be available from the restaurants surrounding Headhouse Square including Bridget Foy’s & Bistro Romano.
