For the 3rd year, the SSHD will partner with Congregation B’nai Abraham offer an evening celebration of the Festival of Light at the Headhouse Shambles.
The event will take place on the first night of Hanukkah, Tuesday December 12 at 5pm, with song, prayer and the ceremony of the traditional lighting of the menorah at the Lombard Street Fountain at the intersections of 2nd & Lombard, (in the advent of inclement weather the ceremony will move under the Headhouse Shambles).
“Our ongoing friendship with Rabbi Goldman and the congregation at B’nai Abraham, as well as our other neighboring synagogues, for this event has been a wonderful inclusion to our holiday traditions in the District. It has become a magical and joyous night of community gathering and we are thrilled it continues this year”, Bill Arrowood, Assistant Director, South Street Headhouse District.
Light refreshments will be served under the Shambles after the ceremony. The week long celebration will continue on Thursday night with a party at the historic synagogue located at 527 Lombard Street.

All are welcome to attend.
