Business Security Camera Program
The SSHD District has the largest number of security cameras of any business district in the city, in large part thanks to the Commerce SafeCam Program. It has aided the Philadelphia Police on numerous occasions apprehend criminal acts from theft to vandalism and the more business that participate the more of a deterrent it has become, reducing the overall crime rate in the District. In partnership with this program, the City will reimburse business and property owners for up to 50% of the cost of installing qualifying camera systems, and the SSHD will reimburse up to 50% of the remainder, meaning you might only have to pay about 37.5% of the cost. Targeted Storefront Improvement Program
TSIP grant funding is available to assist business and property owners by providing reimbursements towards exterior building improvements, including painting, windows, doors, facade lighting, signage and awnings. If you are interested in graffiti removal (stickers, paint, marker) from the front of your store, please complete this GRE-Graffiti-Removal-Release-Form and return it to either the SSHD office or to Todd Kelley, owner of Graffiti Removal Experts, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
GRE also has the ability to remove acid etching graffiti from glass and apply graffiti resistant film for an additional fee. If interested, you can reach GRE at the above email or 610-291-7436.
